The new Demon Slayer movie isn\u2019t just taking over the box office, it\u2019s taking over seats too<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n If you and I were at a movie theater in my home state of California, and you were to tell me, \u201cHey, dude, your seat got jacked,\u201d I\u2019d be kind of upset. I mean, it\u2019s pretty rude to steal someone else\u2019s seat, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n However, here in Japan a whole lot of people\u2019s seats have been getting \u201cjacked\u201d at the movies this summer\u2026and they couldn\u2019t be happier about it. That\u2019s because in Japanese, the word \u201cjack\u201d is used to describe an artistic takeover of a space, a sort of visual \u201chijacking,\u201d and moviegoers\u2019 seats are being jacked by the Demon Slayer Corps<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u3010\u30b7\u30fc\u30c8\u30b8\u30e3\u30c3\u30af\u5c55\u958b\u3011 \u5b9f\u65bd\u30b9\u30af\u30ea\u30fc\u30f3\u3084\u4e0a\u6620\u6642\u9593\u306f\u3001 \u2014 \u9b3c\u6ec5\u306e\u5203\u516c\u5f0f (@kimetsu_off) August 5, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba\u2013The Movie: Infinity Castle<\/strong> is dominating the box office in Japan right now, and in some theaters its dominion extends to the seats themselves. At select cineplexes, an entire screening room\u2019s seats are covered in character art of protagonist Tanjiro and 11 of his fellow Demon Slayers, a promotional event titled the Kimetsu no Yaiba Seat Jack<\/strong>.<\/p>\n When buying movie tickets in Japan, your seat is always reserved, but the layout of the Seat Jack artwork is random, so it\u2019s a matter of luck as to whether or not you\u2019ll be seated on your favorite character as you watch the movie<\/strong>.
