Hello Kitty<\/strong> and Sanrio<\/strong> may be the world\u2019s leading ambassadors for kawaii culture, but that doesn\u2019t mean they\u2019re unwilling to make friends with franchises with dark or destructive atmospheres. We\u2019ve recently seen Sanrio crossovers with Evangelion<\/em><\/a> and Godzilla<\/em><\/a>, and now Kitty-chan and her pals are ready to play with the monsters of Yu-Gi-Oh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Specifically, it\u2019s the 5D\u2019s<\/strong> and Zexal<\/strong> arcs of Yu-Gi-Oh<\/em> that are part of this collaboration. A total of 11 Sanrio characters are taking part, starting with, of course, Hello Kitty, who\u2019s fused with Yu-Gi-Oh 5D\u2019s<\/em> Red Dragon Archfiend<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Also stepping into roles as 5D\u2019s<\/em> monsters are Bad Badtz-Maru as Black-Winged Dragon and My Melody as Black Rose Dragon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u25bc Black-Winged Dragon is known as Black-Feathered Dragon in Japanese, making for an even stronger connection with penguin Bad Badtz-Maru.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Little Twin Stars Kiki and Lala<\/strong> are paired with Power Tool Dragon and Ancient Fairy Dragon<\/strong>, respectively, and Cinnamoroll\u2019s<\/strong> partner is Stardust Dragon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Heading over to the Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal<\/em> part of the project, we see Pompompurin<\/strong> looking rather celestial as Number 39: Utopia Beyond<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Kuromi<\/strong> finds another opportunity to show off her dark-but-cute fashion sense by donning the outfit of Gagaga Girl<\/strong>, and tiny little wheat flour fairy Cogimyun<\/strong> finds a kindred spirit with Baby Tiragon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

And rounding out the Sanrio\/monster lineup are aquatic Hangyodon<\/strong> as Number 32: Shark Drake Veiss<\/strong> and Tuxedo Sam<\/strong> as Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Of course, where there are Sanrio characters, there\u2019s also Sanrio merch, and the collection includes holographic art \u201ccan badge\u201d pins<\/strong>, offered individually as gacha\/blind-buys for 660 yen (US$4.25) or as complete sets for 3,960 or 3,300 yen, depending on whether you\u2019re getting the 5D\u2019s<\/em> or the Zexel<\/em> one.<\/p>\n

There are also acrylic keychains<\/strong> (990 yen individually, 5,940\/4,950 yen for complete sets)\u2026<\/p>\n
