Uniqlo<\/strong> has announced that they\u2019ve got a new line of Pok\u00e9mon T-shirts<\/strong> on the way, and while the casual clothing chain and multimedia entertainment franchise have teamed up a few times before<\/a>, there\u2019s something unique about this collaboration. That\u2019s because while previous designs have taken their inspiration from how the Pocket Monsters look in the franchise\u2019s anime and video games, this new Uniqlo line will be the first one ever based on the art of the Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Starting things off is Pikachu<\/strong>, who, as you can probably guess, has been the subject of a whole lot of Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> cards created by different illustrators. The shirt can be considered a greatest-hits compilation, with several dozen cards arranged in the shape of the Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> franchise mascot himself<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The rest of the line narrows things down to a single image per species, each coming from a specific card, such as the Mega Symphonia Mega Gardevoir ex-version of Gardevoir<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u25bc Hmm\u2026would this shirt fit on that life-size Gardevoir plushie<\/a>?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

High-profile fan favorites Slowpoke<\/strong> and Magikarp<\/strong> also show up, the former based on the Fossil-expansion artwork<\/strong>\u2026<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u2026and the latter on the Paldea Evolved<\/strong> card.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u25bc Because if you\u2019re only ever going to do one thing, you\u2019d better be expert-level at doing it.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not all ultra-famous faces, though, as the new line features a shirt for Omanyte<\/strong>, depicting the Rock\/Water-type as it appears in the 151 expansion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u25bc The white text makes it a little hard to read, but the shirt even includes a helpful explanation of how to create an Omanyte using the Helix Fossil.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Joining the five T-shirts are four Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game<\/em> sweatshirts. The SVP Black Star Promo Snorlax<\/strong> one is great for those looking to match the cozy garment with a Pok\u00e9mon that\u2019s as skilled at relaxing as Magikarp is at splashing.<\/p>\n

\u25bc Snorlax is even doing the Lazy Press.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The next one is a bit of a trivia challenge, at least when viewed from the front, which informs you that its star \u201cEvolves from No. 0093\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2026meaning that it\u2019s Gengar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This version of Gengar, the Genetic Apex Gengar ex<\/strong>, actually hails from Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game Pocket<\/strong>, a.k.a. Pok\u00e9mon Pocket<\/strong>, the digital version of the Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game<\/em> which launched last fall. That\u2019s also the case for the the Genetic Apex Mewtwo ex-card<\/strong> sweatshirt.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And finally, we come to another Pok\u00e9mon who, like Omanyte, doesn\u2019t always get much time in the spotlight: Unown<\/strong>, in Silver Tempest VSTAR<\/strong> form.<\/p>\n

As a cool little hat tip\/deck tap to card gamers, the designs all feature little Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> cards near the hem.<\/p>\n
