{"id":5711,"date":"2026-04-18T16:30:56","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T23:30:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/catbradley.io\/?p=5711"},"modified":"2026-04-18T16:30:56","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T23:30:56","slug":"pokemon-hot-spring-footbath-opening-in-japan-this-spring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/catbradley.io\/?p=5711","title":{"rendered":"Pok\u00e9mon hot spring footbath opening in Japan this spring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-731480\" src=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/04\/pf-7-1.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"319\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span><strong>A relaxing, adorable, and free place to soak your toes with Pikachu, Gyarados, and more<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We recently took a look at Japan\u2019s newest <strong>Pok\u00e9futa<\/strong>, a collection of six Pok\u00e9mon-themed manhole covers being <a href=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/2026\/04\/18\/brand-new-pokemon-manhole-covers-coming-to-help-the-recovery-of-a-disaster-stricken-part-of-japan\/\">installed later this month on the<strong> Noto Peninsula<\/strong> of <strong>Ishikawa Prefecture<\/strong><\/a>. Each of the covers has a different design, highlighting local culture and attractions, since part of the purpose of the Pok\u00e9futa (also called Pok\u00e9 Lids) is to encourage travelers to visit less-famous parts of Japan and help support regional communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u25bc Ishikawa governor Yukiyoshi Yamano presenting Pok\u00e9futa prior to installation<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-731475\" src=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/04\/pf-2-1.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For example, one of the manhole covers will be placed in the town of <strong>Nanao<\/strong>, which has a number of <strong>onsen<\/strong> (hot springs), and it shows Gyarados, Politoed, and Poliwag soaking their feet in a footbath, or ashiyu, as it\u2019s called in Japanese.<\/p>\n<p>\u25bc In Gyarados\u2019 case it\u2019s actually a tailbath, but you get the idea.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-731476\" src=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/04\/pf-3-1.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>In a cool twist, though, this isn\u2019t just a \u201cwhat if\u201d-style daydream, as Nanao really will have a Pok\u00e9mon footbath soon!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-731477\" src=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/04\/pf-4-1.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The city\u2019s footbath facility inside<strong> Yuttari Park<\/strong> is currently undergoing renovations in order to be reborn as the<strong> Wakura Pok\u00e9mon Footbath\/Ashiyu<\/strong>.
