A relaxing, adorable, and free place to soak your toes with Pikachu, Gyarados, and more<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n We recently took a look at Japan\u2019s newest Pok\u00e9futa<\/strong>, a collection of six Pok\u00e9mon-themed manhole covers being installed later this month on the Noto Peninsula<\/strong> of Ishikawa Prefecture<\/strong><\/a>. Each of the covers has a different design, highlighting local culture and attractions, since part of the purpose of the Pok\u00e9futa (also called Pok\u00e9 Lids) is to encourage travelers to visit less-famous parts of Japan and help support regional communities.<\/p>\n \u25bc Ishikawa governor Yukiyoshi Yamano presenting Pok\u00e9futa prior to installation<\/p>\n For example, one of the manhole covers will be placed in the town of Nanao<\/strong>, which has a number of onsen<\/strong> (hot springs), and it shows Gyarados, Politoed, and Poliwag soaking their feet in a footbath, or ashiyu, as it\u2019s called in Japanese.<\/p>\n \u25bc In Gyarados\u2019 case it\u2019s actually a tailbath, but you get the idea.<\/p>\n In a cool twist, though, this isn\u2019t just a \u201cwhat if\u201d-style daydream, as Nanao really will have a Pok\u00e9mon footbath soon!<\/strong><\/p>\n The city\u2019s footbath facility inside Yuttari Park<\/strong> is currently undergoing renovations in order to be reborn as the Wakura Pok\u00e9mon Footbath\/Ashiyu<\/strong>. While no photos have been released yet, the preview renders promise several species of Pok\u00e9mon to hang out with as you soak your feet, including Pikachu<\/strong> and Vaporeon<\/strong>, Eevee\u2019s Water-type evolution<\/p>\n \u25bc Psyduck<\/strong> will be there too, which is good because if there\u2019s any Pok\u00e9mon who could use an opportunity to destress, it\u2019s him.<\/p>\n \u25bc As proof of the good vibes generated by onsen, Gyarados<\/strong> seems to have repurposed the destructive power of its Hydro Pump attack to instead help fill the footbath.<\/p>\n \u25bc The location of the Yuttari Park Pok\u00e9mon manhole cover, which is right next to the footbath structure.<\/p>\n The Wakura Pok\u00e9mon Footbath will be free to use and opens at noon on May 12.<\/p>\n Source, images: Pok\u00e9mon with You official website<\/a><\/em> A relaxing, adorable, and free place to soak your toes with Pikachu, Gyarados, and more.
