Japan\u2019s globally beloved Hobonichi Techo<\/strong> is back for another year, and the 2027 collection is bigger than eve<\/strong>r, with more than 280 new planners and stationery products joining the lineup<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

First launched in 2001, Hobonichi<\/strong> Techo<\/strong> \u2013 Hobonichi means \u201calmost every day\u201d, while \u201ctecho\u201d comes from the Japanese word for planner or diary \u2013 has grown from a small collection of planners to include a wide range of scheduling notebooks and related accessories<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u25bc The brand\u2019s \u201cLife \u306e Book\u201d (\u201cBook of Life<\/strong>\u201d) tagline captures the ethos of the brand\u2019s products, which can be used for scheduling and crafty journalling.<\/p>\n

Hobonichi products are now an international phenomenon<\/strong>, with English-language versions joining the lineup and fans from over 100 countries and regions full of praise for the user-friendly layouts<\/strong> and beautiful designs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

While the 2027 collection is set to be released from 11 a.m. on 1 September<\/strong>, a press event held last week gave us an early look at the new products, allowing us to get all the details on the new collaborations and stationery items in the range.<\/p>\n

Here are the highlights, along with the items you won\u2019t want to miss when the collection drops, starting with some of the most popular characters.<\/p>\n

\u25bc Puppet Sunsun<\/strong><\/p>\n

This blue six-year-old puppet boy character shot to worldwide fame a few years after it was created in Japan, when it became the \u201cScreaming Blue Thing<\/strong>\u201d meme. He\u2019s now so popular that he\u2019s even getting his first-ever Hobonichi range, appearing on an Original size cover (above), and a larger \u201cCousin\u201d size (below).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25bc Puppet Sun Sun\u2019s love for bread is depicted in the handy bookmark that slots into the pocket on the front of the cover.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest surprises is the collaboration with London\u2019s Victoria and Albert Museum<\/strong>, which brings the museum\u2019s collection and design heritage to Hobonichi planners and stationery in a beautiful way.<\/p>\n

Hobonichi is also teaming up with a number of fashion and lifestyle brands for 2027, with Natal Design<\/strong> making its debut\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026 alongside Tanaka<\/strong> Daisuke<\/strong>, who reimagined his jewelled lace-on-velvet handbag design as a techo cover, the largest of which costs 36,300 yen (US$227.82).<\/p>\n
