One of the things we love about Studio Ghibli<\/strong> is how it likes to share its success by collaborating with local companies<\/strong>, bringing them to the plate so they can share the spotlight together. Noritake<\/strong> is one such company, drawing on its 120-plus years of history and expertise\u00a0to produce ceramics for the studio, with the limited-edition \u201cYearly Plate<\/strong>\u201d being an annual tradition that fans look forward to.<\/p>\n

Though the design changes every year,\u00a0My Neighbour Totoro<\/strong> is always the star, and for 2027 we have some familiar characters greeting us from amongst the floral forest setting.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Up top, we have the Catbus<\/strong>, beautifully rendered in watercolour and complete with mouse lights<\/strong> and a destination marker that reads \u201c\u3046\u3061<\/strong>\u201d (\u201chome<\/strong>\u201c). Look closely and you\u2019ll spot Mei<\/strong> and Satsuki<\/strong> enjoying the ride from inside, and galloping up the rear is a surprise appearance by the Kittenbus<\/a>, distinguished by its yet-to-grow teeth.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

On the left is Totoro, perched on a camphor leaf and holding a beautiful evening primrose in his hand, with a smile to bring happiness to your days.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u25bc On the right, you\u2019ll find the blue Medium Totoro<\/strong>, carrying its iconic sack of acorns.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u25bc And at the bottom sits the white Small Totoro<\/strong>, peering out from a log that reads \u201c2027<\/strong>\u201c.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Soot Sprites, butterflies and wildflowers like valerian, carnations, and bellflowers add countryside charm to the design on both the front and back of the plate.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u25bc The plate comes with a wooden stand and is beautifully packaged in a special box, making it ideal for gift-giving.<\/p>\n

With soft, delicate touches and meticulous attention to detail, this is a plate that will put a smile on your face all year long.
