The elevated, art-filled public park on the West Side of Manhattan runs from Gansevoort Street near the Whitney Museum of American Art to 34th Street near Hudson Yards. Commissioned by Bulgari as part of its <em>Serpenti Infinito <\/em>series, which celebrates its famous <em>Serpenti <\/em>collection through artistic partnerships, the temporary installation invited visitors to walk through an enormous coil titled \u201cauroBOROS: Urban Memory and Collective Dream.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The brainchild of artists Marco Canevacci and\u00a0Yena Young, who helm the studio <a href=\"https:\/\/plastique-fantastique.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Plastique Fantastique<\/a>, \u201cauroBOROS\u201d spent nearly two weeks wedged beneath a raised building. Its title is drawn from the ancient <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ouroboros\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ouroboros<\/a> motif of a snake eating its own tail as a metaphor for the continuous cycles of life\u2014a nod to Bulgari\u2019s snake-themed jewelry line\u2014and the site added a playful tension to the piece, as it appeared to support the overhead structure.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1500\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thisiscolossal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/plastique-3.jpg\" alt=\"a giant inflatable sculpture of a gold spiral wedged beneath an overpass on the High Line in Manhattan\" class=\"wp-image-478089\" \/><\/figure>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cauroBOROS\u201d marks the first time Plastique Fantastique has exhibited in the U.S. Earlier installations along a similar theme include iterations of an architectonic gold loop titled \u201cRINGdeLUXE,\u201d which has encircled bridges with the appearance of a kind of cosmic portal.
