So it\u2019s only natural that fans would want to add some of that style to their own tableware, and if the tableware itself happens to contains scenes of Ghibli food, all the better, right?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-704416\" src=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/06\/GP-2.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That brings us to the <strong>Yummy Glass Mini Plate<\/strong> collection that\u2019s being restocked at Ghibli specialty store <strong>Donguri Kyowakoku<\/strong>. While they might look like ceramics at first glance, they\u2019re actually made of reinforced glass, with a special low-temperature process used for the color transfer that creates their uniquely vivid hues. The Ben Day dots used in the designs give them a sort of \u201850s\/\u201960s American comic vibe, as do the text fonts.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-704417\" src=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/06\/GP-3.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>A total of 11 Ghibli anime, plus one Ghibli-adjacent anime<\/strong>, are represented on the 11-centimeter (4.3-inch) plates, starting with <strong>My Neighbor Totoro<\/strong> in a design showing sisters Mei and Satsuki sharing some candy drops while riding to their new countryside home.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-704418\" src=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/06\/GP-4.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s some bumpy translation work as <strong>Castle in the Sky\u2019s<\/strong> Pazu and the sky pirates ask for \u201csecond,\u201d but it\u2019s still clear that Sheeta\u2019s stew is so good that a single bowl just isn\u2019t enough for anyone.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-704419\" src=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/06\/GP-5.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Some of the plates have sound effects or onomatopoeia instead, like the soothing \u201csippp\u201d of this <strong>Kiki\u2019s Delivery Service<\/strong> teatime scene\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-704420\" src=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/06\/GP-6.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-704423\" src=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/06\/GP-9.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"468\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u2026or the enticing \u201cpouuuur\u201d of wine for <strong>Porco Rosso<\/strong>, who, in the Italian style, drinks his vino from a stemless glass.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"465\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Representing the variety of emotions that food can portray in storytelling, there\u2019s a stark contrast between the cozy meal of nabeyaki udon noodles <strong>Whisper of the Heart\u2019s<\/strong> Shizuku and Shiro share in front of the fire\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-704424\" src=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/06\/GP-10.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u2026and the way <strong>Princess Mononoke\u2019s<\/strong> San fiercely tears off a mouthful of dried meat.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-704425\" <strong>Spirited Away<\/strong> plates show the moment Haku gives Chihiro a rice ball from their respective perspectives\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter you necessarily need to be dining with someone else to enjoy good food, though, as <strong>Howl\u2019s Moving Castle\u2019s<\/strong> Markl demonstrates as he grubs with gusto.<\/p>\n<p><img height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s one more <em>Spirited Away<\/em> dish, this one showing mouse-form Boh and the transformed Yu-Bird learning to work together.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-704434\" src=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/06\/GP-20.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The final Ghibli-anime plate takes its inspiration from <strong>The Cat Returns<\/strong>\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-704432\" src=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/06\/GP-18.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u2026and the last plate in the collection, the Ghibli-adjacent one, features the characters of <a href=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/2025\/01\/18\/studio-ghibli-retailer-now-sells-japanese-anime-curry-with-all-the-special-utensils\/\"><strong>Panda! Go Panda!<\/strong><\/a>, the 1972 anime short movie written by Hayao Miyazaki and directed by Isao Takahata before the pair would go on to be two of the co-founders of Studio Ghibli.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-704433\" src=\"https:\/\/soranews24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/06\/GP-19.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Each of the plates is 1,100 yen (US$7.60), a merciful price point considering that a lot of Ghibli fans would have trouble narrowing it down to just one design. They\u2019ll be available for order from June 7 through the Donguri Kyowakoku online store <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donguri-sora.com\/item_list.html?keyword=51433-51446&amp;utm_source=x&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=x_yummy25\">here<\/a>.
