Osaka. He\u2019s seated behind a long Yamaha piano, playing \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=a1sigPmt4yI\">Before Long<\/a>.\u201d His grey hair swoops around as he moves along the keys, and sitting in the back of the room it almost does look like the Japanese artist is a paper-plane throw away. <\/p>\n<p>The digital fog floating into the area, though, reminds this is fantasy.<\/p>\n<p>All I have to do is lift the mixed-reality goggle off of my head to be reminded of reality \u2014\u00a0I\u2019m sitting in a very large room in Osaka\u2019s Umeda district, with a great sound system playing a selection of Sakamoto\u2019s standout piano compositions and a bunch of high-tech sensors on the wall that work in symphony with the heavy sensor tied around my neck to bring him into the space when I slide the glasses back on.<\/p>\n<p>After doing that, I experienced something both touching and ghostly <a href=\"https:\/\/en.sakamoto-kagami.com\/\">at \u201cKagami<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n          <a href=\"https:\/\/mbmelodies.substack.com\/p\/make-believe-bonus-ryuichi-sakamotos\"><br \/>\n              Read more<br \/>\n          <\/a>\n      <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ryuichi Sakamoto materializes into the middle of the spacious studio at VS.
